“Sampaguita” draws on the Philippines’ national flower and its cultural familiarity among elderly residents of the Little Sisters of the Abandoned Elderly.
Curvilinear furniture echoes petal forms. White, healing green, and warm yellow support a soothing atmosphere; fragrance is introduced as an olfactory cue for memory and well-being.
The space moves beyond symbolism to create a non-institutional, multisensory environment that nurtures emotional security for elderly residents.
